A fabulous Antique Suffragette pendant dating from the late Edwardian era, Circa 1910. The piece is fashioned in 9ct Yellow Gold and depicts a wonderful long bow at the top with a wreath in the centre.
The piece is decorated with Pearls and Peridots throughout along with a 0.23ct Amethyst in the centre and finally a lustrous Baroque Pearl dropper.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine. Their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents and popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which carried the message: Green for Give, white for Women and violet for Votes!
The pendant is a wonderful tribute to the Suffragette movement and would go lovely on a Gold chain.
